I started collecting watches in my early twenties with very little money and a great deal of curiosity. The first watch I bought seriously was a Longines manual-wind from 1968 — purchased for £80 from a dealer who clearly didn't know what he had. I still have it.
Over the years the collection grew, and so did my understanding of what makes a watch worth collecting seriously. It is rarely the price. It is almost always the story — the movement, the provenance, the quiet confidence of an object made to last a hundred years.
I founded The Collectors Club because the peer-to-peer market for serious pieces lacked the discretion it deserved. The major platforms are noisy, transactional, and optimised for volume. I wanted something smaller, quieter, and more considered.
Membership is personal to me. I review every application myself. If you apply, you will hear from me directly.
